Patrick Smith was the sort of schoolboy who loved Technical Drawing. He liked it so much, in fact, that he managed to wangle twice as many lessons in the subject than everyone else.
Following a two decade career in the City of London's finance sector, Patrick took a deep breath and changed direction. Taking a two year full time HND in Building Studies, graduating top of his class (no mean feat when one considers he had to invest in a dictionary of construction terms so he could follow the lectures), he discovered a hidden talent for 3D modelling.
Some people are naturals when it comes to navigating a 3D environment. This became apparent to him during his time as a lecturer in advance 3D modelling at Park Campus, Cheltenham. Out of a class of 12 students, only two, perhaps, would show similar abilities to himself, and only one appeared during his time there, that he considered to be close to his equal.
This specialist talent is a rare gift and Patrick decided not to let it go to waste. It was no coincidence that he formed Depth3D during one of the most violent of recessions. He saw that 3D animation is central to a websites ability to function at its optimum, bringing a page to life in a way no other medium can possibly match. This conviction is core to his business. Commerce thrives on new business. New business is generated more and more through internet access searches. A businesses website must be able to make an immediate impact on new visitors and, without the benefit of animation, that ability is greatly diminished.
Skilled in the usage of a range of modelling programs, Patrick Smith produces stunning visuals and animated clips from his precision models to facilitate his clients businesses.
